Once you join the Mobile Optimization Initiative, you’ll wonder how you ever managed testing and optimization without it. But like anything new, getting started can seem daunting. Here’s a quick FAQ to answer your questions and show you how easy it is.

The Mobile Optimization Initiative brings together eCommerce System Integrators (SIs), technology providers, and global eCommerce leaders to help BigCommerce merchants grow revenue on mobile eCommerce platforms.

Through the collaboration of BigCommerce, PayPal, and HiConversion*, merchants can start experimenting quickly and efficiently.

For the first 60 days, funding for this initiative is provided by PayPal. HiConversion provides both expertise and licensing for its product and experienced conversion optimization specialists are made available to merchants. Participating merchants and SIs will also get access to 122 pre-designed mobile eCommerce optimization experiments and insights from the entire community.

After the 60-day trial, there is absolutely no obligation to continue. If merchants choose to extend their participation and continue to test, optimize, and adapt to ever-changing buyer behavior, they would directly work with the SI to determine the ongoing service cost based on their unique requirements.

Merchants typically spend a couple of hours with an SI in the initial stages to describe their business and help identify the best areas to test and optimize first. After that, the time commitment is just a simple check-in call once per month to discuss results, insights, and optimization recommendations.

After signing onto the Initiative, here’s what merchants can expect:

  • Discovery

    An ambassador from the Mobile Optimization Initiative will work with you (and your existing Magento SI agency) to learn about your business and start you off on the right path to success.

    If you do not have a Magento SI agency, the MOI ambassador will introduce you a certified Magento Partner.

    A small snippet of code will be added to your website to monitor traffic, path and conversions for 2 to 4 weeks.

    Review of the data gathered in Step 1. We will compare your site performance against the rest of the community to see where opportunities exist.
